Understanding Platelet-Rich Plasma as Potential Therapy To Improve Cardiac Function After Myocardial Infarction: Based On Evidence

چکیده
Myocardial infarction is the leading cause of death in world’s population. The sudden and progressive loss cardiomyocyte contractile cells due to disproportionate number new formation. This pathological condition will ultimately reduce function heart muscles. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) last decade has been attracting attention regarding its role cell regeneration. content cytokines growth factors contained PRP such as Platelet-Derived Growth Factor (PDGF), Transforming Beta 1 (TGF-Β1), Epidermal (EGF), Vascular Endothelial (VEGF), Basic Fibroblast (bFGF) others are known be involved migration, proliferation, differentiation various types induce post-ischemic angiogenesis. review aims analyze investigate benefits therapy myocardial infarction. Recent literatures use was collected by searching PubMed Google Scholar databases with keywords “Platelet-rich plasma”, “Myocardial Infarction”, “Reperfusion”, “Angiogenesis”. researches used published between January 2011 December 2022. Based on results, Plasma considered capable accelerating angiogenesis, mitogenesis, protect from free radicals, infarct area scar tissue can also improve cardiac post increasing ejection fraction. In addition, treatment costs risk complications bleeding infection.

Platelet - Rich Plasma Therapy
• Platelet-rich plasma therapy (PRP) involves drawing the patient's blood and spinning it in a centrifuge to separate out the platelets. The layer of platelet-rich plasma is then injected into the patient's pathological body part. The platelets release growth factors to promote healing. It is an office procedure that lasts less than an hour. • The procedure has gained fame because of use on pro...

Molloy, et. al., (2003) address specific growth factors encountered in ligament and tendon healing. After reading about the factors found in superficial wounds, above, these should appear familiar, including: Platelet derived growth factor (PDGF)—produced shortly after tendon injury, stimulates production of other growth factors such as IGF-1, and is involved in the tissue remodeling phase of h...
متن کاملNanosecond pulsed platelet-rich plasma (nsPRP) improves mechanical and electrical cardiac function following myocardial reperfusion injury.
Ischemia and reperfusion (I/R) of the heart is associated with biochemical and ionic changes that result in cardiac contractile and electrical dysfunction. In rabbits, platelet-rich plasma activated using nanosecond pulsed electric fields (nsPRP) has been shown to improve left ventricular pumping. Here, we demonstrate that nsPRP causes a similar improvement in mouse left ventricular function. W...

متن کاملConversion from Platelet-Rich Plasma Platelet Production to Buffy Coat Platelet Component Production: Benefits and Limitations
Blood transfusion centers are under considerable pressure to produce platelet concentrates with high quality and safety due to the short shelf life of 3-5 days as well as possible bacterial and viral contaminations. For a variety of reasons, many Europeans have changed their methods of component production from whole blood using the North American standard platelet-rich plasma method to the buf...
